Tony Sobony – Founder
Christian husband, father of 3, grandfather of 10, retired high school teacher and coach, Bachelor’s Degree from Mansfield State University, Master’s Degree from Xavier University, cancer survivor, Founder of the American Pie Party. Officially accepted 56,045 Pies in the Face, 69,971 overall in 40 years. Loves short walks on the beach.
Sally Sobony – Co-Founder and Volunteer Coordinator
Sally Sobony is a retired Registered Nurse who is actively involved with her church, St. Mary, and is in charge of the adopt a family program where they help families in need of assistance from the school at Christmas.
Sally has been married to Tony Sobony, founder of The American Pie Party for 46 years. Sally and Tony have three grown children and ten grandchildren.
Sally has been an active supporter, as well as the whole Sobony family, of The American Pie Party since it’s conception. Sally was the person who actually created the name. As an active board member, Sally plans to continue her support as the Volunteer Coordinator for party events with written and or verbal communication on how to set up a Pie Party.
President: Kim McKeand
Kim McKeand is a retired data manager for the Department of Education, State of Ohio. She obtained a Master’s Degree in Business and Master’s Degree in Management Science from the Mount Vernon Nazarene University. She is an entrepreneur by nature and always has the desire to serve those in need. As such, helping individuals or families deal with the trauma of fighting cancer, encouraging cancer survivors or remembering those who have lost their battle is why Kim became a board member with The American Pie Party.
Educating the community about cancer through Pie Party Tag and, always with compassion, remembering those daily for whom cancer affects, is her personal mission as Board President. Kim is a devoted wife, mother of three and grandmother of four. She loves her Lord and is devoted to Him above all. Kim loves attending and serving at Grace Fellowship Church in Pickerington, Ohio and also serves as a board member with the Byron Saunders Foundation Fairfield County.
Secretary: Wesley Adams
Wesley Adams is a co-founder and the chief design officer at Multivarious Games LLC in Columbus, Ohio. He helps to coordinate game design, animation, and team processes within the company on titles like Hatch-It! and No Mercy. As an organizer of the Central Ohio Gamedev Group, he works to promote game development around Midwest communities. His current role as secretary in The American Pie Party echoes his support to local communities.
Throughout the year, Wesley advises on the annual Midwest game developer expo board called GDEX. During the day, Wesley works as a courseware developer for Xcelerate Media in e-learning by creating interactive experiences and character animations with fortune 500 companies. Before working in the video-game industry, he obtained a BFA in animation from the Columbus College of Art and Design.
Treasurer: Bruce McKeand
Bruce McKeand is a small business owner qualified with over 40 years of experience in his field. His company, CGP, LLC, has been in the appraisal and antiques industry since 1978. He is a leading provider of valuations, and over the past few years, he has established a proven track record for quality, trustworthy appraisals.
Operations Director Chair: Jennifer Belt
Jen Belt is the artist and owner of Ruby Rose Studio, LLC. She is a self-taught artist that operates her one-woman shop out of the wee town of Orient, Ohio. She has been marketing her art online, at shows, and in stores around the country since 2006. She attended The University of Akron where she earned her B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Sociology and English.
Jen enjoys living life to the fullest with her wonderful husband and two incredible daughters. She is a very active Girl Scout leader and is always looking to lend a hand to community organizations in need. Her small business experience, entrepreneurial spirit, and immense love for other humans directs her into action and leadership in all areas of her life.
American Pie Party Chaplain: Andy Johnson
Andy is a Pastor in Grove City, Ohio, and he loves people. One of the biggest joys in his life is connecting people with services and experiences that will transform their lives. Andy loves enjoying life with his wife and dog, going to Blue Jackets and Crew games, and playing board games.
Child Advocacy Program Chair: Kyle Alfriend
Kyle Alfriend is a real estate broker, investor, entrepreneur, speaker, and coach. He has been the managing partner of the Alfriend Real Estate Group for 38 years. And, most importantly, he is the father of four sons and four grandchildren (and counting).
When his teenage son was diagnosed with stage IV leukemia, Kyle dedicated his life and business to fighting for children fighting cancer. He believes the highest calling of business is to fund causes worth fighting, and says that “money is good for all the good it can do.”
Kyle has taken the “Pie in the face” challenge, repelled 300’ down the face of the Chase Tower, and completed over 85 marathons, triathlons, and century rides… all for childhood cancer research.
Grants and Resources Chair: Jeanne Enstad
I’m a farm raised tomboy from Northwest Ohio. My career started teaching Christian Preschool and then as the 4-H Program Director for OSU Extension. After a head-on car accident which took me out for a year, I became the Center Director for Erie Senior Center, finally I went on to being the Program/Center Director, Family Service Learning Center for Ford Motor Co. moving on as a Christian Author. I was a School Board President and volunteered on 11 various committees, including the American Cancer Society. I’m a two-time survivor of ovarian and breast cancers, 5 open heart surgeries, brain tumor, well 28 years of surgeries. I’m single with 3 amazing children and 7 grandchildren. Currently living in Dublin. I’m a Christian author of the book, “A Journey of Hope to Heaven and Back”, with the sequel coming soon. I am a Motivational Speaker, life coach and embroidery designer. My goal in life is to bring Hope, love and glory in Jesus to the world and to tell them how beautiful Heaven is. I coach others to find real joy and contentment in life through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. With 2 visits to Heaven, my life is a witness of the power and beautiful Home He has waiting for those who believe in Him. When I was in Heaven, Jesus left me with this message to share, “Tell my children I love them and coming back soon to get them.”
Information Technology Chair: Brandon McKeand
Brandon McKeand is a loving father of two cats, who he raises with his husband in Santa Cruz, California. He is the Director of Operations and Support for Exceedio, an IT company which specializes in support of non-profits, small businesses, and governmental infrastructure agencies, throughout California. He is a graduate of the University of California Santa Cruz with a degree in Computer Science from the Baskin School of Engineering. He has spent is life in customer service of one form or another for the last 20 years and finds joy in helping others as best he can. Finally, he enjoys long drives to remote places in search of the most spectacular campsites found in the US.
Bradley E. Eberhard
Bradley E. Eberhard
Brad Eberhard is an Audit Principal with Clark, Schaefer, Hackett, & Co. His primary responsibilities include providing audit, review and compilation services for non-profit organizations and employee benefit plans. His clients range from start-ups to multi-million dollar companies. With over 15 years of experience covering a variety of audits, including manufacturing & distribution and not-for-profits of various sizes, Brad has become uniquely qualified to understand the issues and complexities affecting companies and organizations today. Additionally, Brad represents his Firms valuation practice in the Columbus market and performs valuations for a variety of clients involved in purchasing businesses, completing estate planning, and working through ownership changes. He also works with churches and religious organizations providing attest services and consulting, including control walk-throughs.
However, his most important job title is husband to an amazing and support wife, Kaitie Eberhard, and a father to three wonderful children; Hannah and Libby (age 6) (affectionately called the “twins”) and Callie (age 2) (affectionately called the “spare”). .
In July 2020, Libby was diagnosed with brain cancer and spent nine months at Nationwide Children’s Hospital before beginning her new life as a cancer survivor. The family became immersed in a world they always knew existed, but never thought they would be a part of. Through their experience they have learned firsthand the effects a childhood cancer diagnose can have on the family. Brad and his wife look forward to using their families experience to encourage and help other families as they begin the journey no one ever wants to start.
